Some of the many benefits to living in a building that has been built to LEED® standards include:
Energy
Students will be quick to notice the difference that the energy efficient appliances have on the electricity bill. Students will find it easy to conserve with these new smart appliances.
Disposal of Waste
LEED® requires that tenants of the building are given every opportunity to divert their waste from garbage. West Village Suites has both recycling and compost bins on every floor, making it easy to be environmentally conscious when disposing of waste materials.
Public Transportation
The LEED® program requires that all avenues of public transportation be considered. Parking spaces for traditional vehicles are limited. In their place, bicycle storage areas provide a convenient place to park bicycles. HSR busing is also available to ensure that adequate transportation to and from McMaster and the surrounding stores is convenient.
